Meet Our Sales Advisors
Day in the Life of a ROC Sales Advisor
Meet Kerry McGowen, Sales Advisor (Level 3) at our Five Barred Gate store. She’s here to talk you through her day so you see what working as a Sales Advisor is really like…
My typical day starts at 7am – I arrive at the store, and park in my free spot. Next up checking the forecourt and its surroundings for anything out of the ordinary. As you might expect, safety really matters when you work on the forecourts, so we all do our bit.
Then I pop into the shop and say hello to the team – and the regulars who are browsing – before clocking in. The shift changes, whoever I’m replacing will head off home, and it’s my turn to get behind the till. If there’s a quiet moment, I’ll stock up the cigarette gantry in preparation for the next shift change.
We take different tasks in turns on a shift, so next up I might be stocking up the shop, date checking or getting the stockroom ready for deliveries. Another job of mine is the coffee machine – I make sure it’s full and in good working order for customers in need of a caffeine fix.
As you might imagine, shifts fly by – I suppose it’s the variety. That said, the team and I always make time for a cuppa, a biscuit and a laugh.
